woven scarf

This scarf is 80" long and about 12" wide.

It's amazing how much less yarn that weaving uses compared to knitting or crocheting.

The warp is Deborah Norville Serenity Garden Yarn in Hibiscus and the weft yarn is Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable Yarn in Sunrise.

Ultimately, I want to weave with Noro Kureyon.

  1. This is beautiful! What kind of loom is it that you use? ( I am completely ignorant.)

  2. I know the feeling. :) It's a tabletop rigid heddle loom. It's about 30 years old. The new ones seem to be more user friendly. (not that I know much about weaving at all)

  3. Absolutely crazy crazy crazy about your new scarf!!! Sooooooooooo beautiful.

You have convinced me that i need to weave a scarf. AFTER I finish the bag of course. Just have had so much trouble leaving the embroidery and the knitting alone lately. Any tips for dusting a warp? ;-)

  4. Okay, dusting as in dusting the house or is this a fiber/yarn/weaving term I don't know? Seriously, my vocabulary for these crafts is ridiculously small! :)
