little crocheted rug

crochet rug

This is my first time to crochet. As you can see it's not straight. :) I enjoyed doing it. I wanted a little rug with some wool content, but didn't want to shell out $400+. In the end my rows became more even, but not even enough. Maybe at some point I'll take it apart and start over. (doubt that!)

The yarn is Patons Cobbles from Michaels.

The size is about 41" x 24".

light bulb

Here is the image I used to embroider the light bulb in this post. It was posted freely, but it's not mine, so don't sell, claim it, etc.

I used pearl cotton 5 and split stitch for the whole thing.

first two (almost) weeks of Jan

Here is a stumpwork death's head hawk moth. It's out of control, really. Glow-in-the-dark paint = What was I thinking? It was fun to do. I made more mistakes than corrects on this one. As always, design, design, design first, create second. :)

This light bulb was fun, easy and quick. There is a lot to be said for accepting a challenge, but it's nice to do something quick and easy sometimes, too. This is from my own pattern modeled after an image of an old style light bulb. Here is the image if you'd like to do one for yourself.

last two weeks of Dec

I know, that's so last year, isn't it? But I want to blog. It's a good 'journal' for me. I can keep track of everything somehow. And if one or two people want to read, that's a nice bonus. :)

This advent calendar from pixystitches was so fun to do.

Then there were these first attempts at crewel. The thread / yarn is from Dragonflylotus handspun threads. It's gorgeous stuff.
