Japanese stab binding with handmade paper



My first attempt at bookbinding.
Yes, it's very primitive.
I really enjoyed making it.
The book is tiny - only about 3 inches square.
I made the paper ages ago.
It's nothing special and it's definitely not acid free.
As it was my first experience I just used anything I had on hand.
The cover is that paper, but stained with tea.

edited to add: The thread is embroidery floss run through wax. I wish I had used a lighter or darker color.
