sand and fog and mist linen pillowcases - for me

Remember the linen I received at Christmas?
Here are the pillowcases I made out of it. I'm going buy some nice, but not too soft ivory color sheets for summer.

curtains, cookies, potatoes and a cicada

cicada on cicada day
hot cinnamon sugar cookie
linen curtains
blue, red & white potatoes

My niece sent me this origami cicada. She thinks it's funny that I'm afraid of butterflies and most other big flying bugs. :)

I finally took a picture of the linen curtains I made out of the gauze-like linen I received for Christmas. I love the way the let so much light in.

The cookies are a sugar cookie recipe with 1 tablespoon of cinnamon & 1/2 teaspon of cayenne pepper added for each cup of flour. They have a great cinnamon taste and are a little hot thanks to the cayenne pepper. They're rather like a cookie version of those red hot heart candies.

Blue potatoes are blue inside and out! I didn't know that until very recently. They taste like regular potatoes. I roasted them with rosemary, onion and olive oil.

M M X I

Happy New Year!

I don't have anything pretty to post or clever to say.

We did a lot of entertaining this year.

Our holidays were wonderful, but now I'm tired. :)

So to keep it short, I hope for a great year for all of us!
